About Course

“Model It Yourself” is a step-by-step instruction set to help you understand the fundamentals of Model-based Development. Throughout the MIY series, you will spend about 10 hours each on creating dynamic models, implementing controls, and analyzing the behavior of 15 different vehicle systems spread across 5 main domains – control design, road dynamics, powertrain, advanced systems, and full vehicle design.

NOTE: This course is designed as an instruction guide in written format.

Introduction to fundamentals of control systems using MATLAB code and Simulink models
Controls design for PID controller
Introduction to road load models, drive cycles and powertrain sizing
Component modelling – DC motor, IC engine, Li-ion battery, automatic transmission
Advanced automotive systems development – adaptive cruise control, anti-skid braking, active differential, active suspension
