High Voltage Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

We are looking for an Electronics Hardware Engineer who is experienced within ECU (Electronic Control Unit) design and who have experience working within the automotive field.

Role and  Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of power electronic and motor control hardware that push the state of the art in efficiency, power density, cost and thermal design.
  • Lead detailed component placement and power/signal routing working with electrical engineers.
  • Follow DFM, DFT, and DFA guidelines working with internal and external product development teams.
  • Create documentation and procurement packages for PCB fabrication and PCB assembly.
  • Experience in selecting and integrating motor control ICs, gate drivers, sensors, and other relevant components.
  • Support and participate in symbol and footprint creation by working with the ECAD Librarian.
  • Execute consistently successful PCB layouts with thoughtfulness and speed.
  • Testing and troubleshooting high voltage and associated electronic component
  • Conduct diagnostics using Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) and executed testing and validation procedures for high-voltage systems.
  • Utilize CANalyzer for in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of communication networks in automotive systems.
  • Ensured compliance with EMI/EMC standards (ISO 11452, CISPR 25, and ISO 7637) through rigorous testing, validation, and adherence to industry-specific automotive guidelines
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and functional safety (ISO 26262) requirements.
  • Performed Design Validation Plan (DVP) and In-Vehicle Network (IVN) testing to ensure system robustness
  • Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) for various projects, optimizing component selection for cost and performance

Qualifications  and Education Requirements

  • High Voltage Power Supply Design
  • FMEA for electronics systems
  • Design PCBs according to EMC standards
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in PCB design, preferably in power electronics and motor drive applications
  • Highly experienced with Altium Designer, Knowledge of Altium 365
  • Knowledge of layout practices for analog, digital, and power circuitry to meet performance, thermal, and EMI requirements.
  • Understanding of IPC standards
  • Experience in PCB designs up to 1000V and 500A
  • Automotive industry background
  • Expertise in high-voltage DC-DC converters and combo systems (OBC + DC-DC) with a focus on efficiency and reliability
