Lotus Eletre electric SUV launched in India at Rs 2.55 crore: Features, specs, range

Lotus Eletre Cars from the UK will work with Exclusive Motors India to join the Indian market.

The venerable British high-performance sports car maker Lotus Cars revealed its intention to join the Indian automobile market on Thursday. During the formal launch of the brand in India, Lotus revealed the pricing and features of one of the most awaited models: the Eletre R, an electric hyper-SUV. The firm’s Eletre R base model is priced at Rs 2.55 crore in India.

Together with Exclusive Motors India, Lotus Eletre Cars will join the Indian market.

In the latter half of 2024, Lotus will also release The Emira, its most recent and last internal-combustion sports vehicle. Customers can pick between two engine options for the car: a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 360 horsepower or a 6-cylinder supercharged variant that produces 400 horsepower.

Lotus Eletre: Engines and Displacement

With a choice of two powertrains, the car will be available in three distinct models at launch: Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R. With a maximum range of 600 km (373 miles), the 450 kW / 603 hp single-speed variant is available for the Eletre and Eletre S. The flagship 675 kW / 905 hp dual-speed system, with a maximum capacity of 490 km (304 miles), is included with the Eletre R. With torque values of 710 and 985 Nm, respectively, one can get a performance of either 4.5 or 2.95 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h).

With a quick charger, the 112 kWh battery in both variants can be charged (10%–80%) in about 20 minutes.

The Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack, Carbon Fibre Pack, gloss black wheels, stainless steel sports pedals, black badging, and high-performance tires are all included in the Eletre R’s standard specification.
