Powertrain Functional Safety & Feature Requirements Engineer

Location: Dearborn, MI


We are looking to enhance software quality through functional ownership of several key engine features, interface between the core teams in North America and Europe, and process development including role out of a new requirements management tools. The engineer will be responsible for Core Engineering Development – System Design Development and robustness engineering, which includes Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and DFMEA work products. Testing in HIL/SIL and vehicle using Industry standard Tools such as ATI and CANalyzer


Robustness Process Implementation:

  • Revised design for FuSa including end to end driver intent
  • Boundary Diagram, Interface Diagram, P diagram, Quality history, FMEA, DVM/ DVP
  • Populate in Magicdraw

Functional safety Monitoring System:

  • Functional safety process implementation & development of solution proposal to meet Functional safety requirements for engine starting feature
  • Management of the feature implementation for the boundary diagram.
  • Roll out for DV testing for all HIL tested sw paths
  • Development of DVM for “FS” testing
  • Development of the Functional Safety deliverables, SRS, FSR, TSR for the 22MY starting feature design
  • Ownership of the internal organization and input to Bosch/Gas teams

Issue Management and Resolution:

  • Lead issue management for responsible area (including Jira) Includes the FS, Robustness and staring blocking related issues
  • Support of vehicle level investigations for the starting feature issues where identified in FNA test vehicles. Scope of this role depends on the magnitude of issues.

Required Skills: FuSa (ISO-26262), DFMEA, HIL, SIL, ATI, CANalyzer, P Diagram, JIRA, DVM/DVP

Education: Degree in Automotive / Mechanical / Electrical Engineer

Experience: 2-3 years
