Program Manager: CMF (Color, Material, Finish)

We are currently searching for a Program Manager to manage Color/Material harmony development process. The Program Manager will lead the program management functional teams towards the development, validation and sign off the Color, Material and Finish activities. The primary responsibilities will be to build and lead an strategy to drive cross functional experts in testing and validation engineering, supplier quality, suppliers, design studio, and engineering.
The ideal candidate will have expert-level engineering program management experience and team management experience in the automotive/heavy-duty truck space and have a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality to execute. A broad knowledge of color/material harmony, surface material development process, and master sample development process. The ideal candidate will be a mechanical/project/electrical/quality engineer, very organized, familiar with vehicle systems including interiors, exteriors, plastics, grains, paint, injection molding, PPAP, and have a strong desire for growth and be a great communicator.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the design engineering team on the material definition process
- Coordinate deliverables between engineering, suppliers, studio engineering, and supplier quality.
- Work with quality engineers to finalize design craftsmanship and quality of first-off tool parts, final body paint, body details, MIC parts, and grain for interior and exterior components.
- Kick-Off Design Briefs for Paint supplier (Body and Detail Parts) & Colors, Trim Colors, Badge, and Bright work color, MIC parts, Lamps, Wheels, Seats and Headliner, PVC/TPO/PP Parts (IP/Dr/FlCon) suppliers, Carpet (molded and floor mats) Brightwork and details (Badges switches.
- Work with suppliers and establish color range and targets for all colors, interior and exterior Get samples of proven, non-proprietary color choices from paint suppliers.
- Work internally to verify/approve material choice for color development. Collect as many valid material candidates that can meet cost and timing targets from our suppliers.
- Work with suppliers on color masters and matching and finalizing all colors, interior and exterior. Make masters of proven, non-proprietary color choices from a paint supplier.
- Work with suppliers on color masters and matching and finalizing all interior lighting colors.
- Oversight of product deployment & integration
- Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Comfortable with complex problem-solving and rapidly changing priorities
- Comfortable in high-pressure environments during rapid ramp-up periods (as is the case during the next six months)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- BS or higher in Engineering or equivalent and relevant industry experience. MSXX (Master of Engineering) desired
- 10+ years of commercial and/or automotive OE industry experience. Class 8 truck chassis development or EV OE experience highly desired.
- 10+ years of practical experience in technical program/project management (PMP certification a plus)
- 10+ years of implementation of LEAN processes, systems, and behaviors with touchpoints in production, quality, maintenance, and materials in an OEM automotive environment.
Practical experience in using any of these tools: SOLIDWORKS-EE, Auto CAD, Arcadia,
Preferred experience and skills:
- Understanding of material, color, and texture development processes.
- Familiarity with related regulations, FMVSS/SAE standards, and practices
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage several different tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate across the organization and lead presentations.
Recognize the Quality Management System in place at Dorleco and participate in the processes and procedures in the QMS ISO 9001:2015

- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
